June is upon us and that means Pride Month!
At Criteo, we strive to have an open, accepting and inclusive work environment year-round. But this month in particular, employees around the world are encouraged to take a step back and celebrate the differences and diversity that make our workforce so special. In line with this year’s global Pride theme of “Looking back and loving forward”, teams across the office came together to reflect on the triumphs and struggles of the LGTBQ+ community and remind ourselves why we continue to push for progress.
To kick things off in the Criteo Boston office, time was dedicated during an all company meeting to discuss Pride, beginning with leadership from each department speaking about what makes them proud to work for Criteo. Following this, a brief history of the origins of Pride Month was presented along with information about what Criteo is doing to celebrate and give back to the LGBTQ+ community throughout the month of June.
Last Friday, nearly 50 Boston office employees came together for June’s “Mentorship Circle” meeting. Each month, these meetings, hosted by the local Women@Criteo group, are dedicated to a specific topic in which the group reads an article or watches a video clip and then engages in open discussion with their colleagues.
This month, the group watched clips from the Netflix’s “Nanette”, which is a twist on a comedy performance covering topics of personal revelations on gender, sexuality and childhood turmoil. A powerful discussion followed led by Kate Curtis, a Program Lead in the Boston office.
The celebrations continued on Saturday when 40 employees, friends and their families came together to march on behalf of Criteo in the 49th annual Boston Pride Parade. This marks the first time Criteo has been represented in the Boston Pride Parade, having had previous representation in the New York City Pride Parade. The Boston office plans to continue to march in future Pride Parades.
Throughout the month, the office will feature many Pride-themed decorations. Anywhere you turn in the office you can find flyers that highlight company employees expressing what Pride means to them. Additionally, employees will be able to add their commitment to creating a more inclusive and accepting world on our Criteo Cares Commitment Wall.
Criteo Cares and the Boston Office donated proceeds from this year’s fundraising to The Sidney Borum, Jr. Health Center, which provides safe, non-judgmental care for young people in the Boston area between the ages of 12-29.
