Criteo Achieves 2022 Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) Certification for Ongoing Commitment to Brand Safety

Updated on August 7, 2024

Invalid traffic and brand safety remain growing concerns for the digital advertising industry, costing brands billions of dollars annually and eroding consumer trust. At Criteo, we remain committed to protecting our clients from illegal and inappropriate content while improving transparency in the industry.

Our advanced safety solutions protect both brands and publishers, while maintaining the highest level of quality and performance, through:

  • Inventory Quality: Strict quality standards are rigorously enforced to protect brands and campaigns’ performance.
  • Brand Suitability: Granular controls help ensure ads show only on content and inventory aligned with a brand ‘s identity and standards.
  • Traffic Quality: Advanced detection and prevention systems help ads reach real human users with a genuine interest in a brand and its products.
  • Ad Safety: Comprehensive Ad Guidelines and proprietary machine learning ensure that ads displayed are aligned with publisher standards.

Recognition for Criteo’s Commitment to Brand Safety

Recently, we were honored to receive the 2022 TAG Certified Against Fraud and Brand Safety Certified Seals from the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG). TAG is the world’s leading program to fight criminal activity and protect brand safety in digital advertising. These certifications, which Criteo has received every year since 2018, recognize the high standards we set to combat invalid traffic and deliver advertising in a brand safe environment.

“For digital advertising to continue to grow and thrive, we must continue to build confidence in the supply chain by maintaining low IVT rates and strengthening brand safety,” said Mike Zaneis, TAG CEO. “By achieving the TAG Brand Safety Certified and Certified Against Fraud Seals, Criteo has demonstrated its leadership in defending our industry against criminal activity and raising the bar on brand safety. We look forward to continuing to work with Criteo in further enhancing the safety of the digital advertising ecosystem.”

Criteo achieved the Certified Against Fraud and Brand Safety Certified Seals through independent validation by a third-party auditor BPA WW, as well as by meeting the many requirements set for intermediary entities by TAG.

A Trusted Partner for the Future of Advertising

“Online advertising has become more and more complex over the last few years with new environments and solutions advertisers can access and leverage. And due to global events, the last couple of years have only confirmed that brand safety and traffic quality stay on top of advertisers’ minds. We are proud to be recognized once again for our efforts by receiving TAG’s Certified Against Fraud and Brand Safety Certified Seals. These certifications reinforce our dedication to be a trusted partner as the leading Commerce Media Platform,” said Francois Zolezzi, Head of Commercial Guidelines / Trust & Safety for Criteo.

We’re looking forward to continuing our collaboration with TAG and to playing an active role in ensuring a trustworthy and safe ecosystem for advertisers and publishers. As 2022 progresses, we’ll keep investing in resources and solutions that help our partners succeed with new products and in new environments.
