The countdown is on: Only a handful of days remain until the European digital industry will reconvene again for DMEXCO in Cologne. Europe’s largest trade fair and conference for the digital economy brings together the key decision-makers from the fields of digital, marketing and innovation. Two whole days will be dedicated to trends and the status quo of online advertising and ecommerce, digital technologies, and new industries.
The motto for this year’s DMEXCO is “Trust in You”, reflecting the industry’s trust in itself, in digital value creation, and in good ideas.
We think it’s a great theme, and we can hardly wait to explore it together with the many thousands of visitors, exhibitors, and speakers on September 11 and 12 in Cologne.
We can’t wait to exchange ideas with you, share our insights and of course celebrate at #DMEXCO19. We’re especially looking forward to these five things:
1. Retail Media on the Debate Stage
Have you already thought about which conference slots you desperately want to attend? We have a top-class panel for you, which will be discussing one of the hottest topics on the German marketing scene: retail media. The discipline, which is still in its infancy, offers many opportunities for the industry. Dealers can monetize their websites even better, and brands can gain access to potential buyers.
Nevertheless, retail media has taken off in Germany as quickly as it has in other markets. The panel “Retail Media – The Unpleasant Child or Hidden Champion”, held on the debate stage on the second day of #DMEXCO19 at 4:25 p.m., will focus on what brands expect from retailers and how retail media is set to take off in Germany in 2020.
With Martin Meyer-Gossner moderating, the discussion will take place among five big players in international retail media:
- Geoffroy Martin, GM & EVP, Retail Media and Supply, Criteo
- Thorsten Ahlers, CEO, Otto Group Media
- Mike Chin, Group VP – Digital Media, Macy’s
- Andreas Antrup, MD & VP, Data & Advertising, Zalando
- Matthias Brock, Head of E-Commerce, New Business & Strategic Projects, Parfümerie Douglas
2. Our Legendary RoofStop Party
There can be no #DMEXCO19 without our annual legendary RoofStop Party at Osman 30! That’s where we end the first day in style. You can expect great drinks, finger food, and live music – with a perfect panoramic view over the rooftops of Cologne. One big highlight: an Apple Watch up for grabs.
Do you want to celebrate with us? Simply send us a request by email.
3. Seminar with Corinna Hohenleitner
On the very first day we have a must-visit for all marketers and agencies: In our seminar “The agony of choice for consumers – what creates customer retention and brand loyalty?” we’ll share the latest research findings on buyer behavior: What influences a customer’s choice of brand? What determines whether a one-time purchase creates a genuine customer relationship? And why would a buyer turn their back on a brand they used to love?
These questions and more will be discussed with Rob Peters from Teufel and Thomas Wrobel from Parfümerie Douglas on September 11 at 10 a.m. in Seminar 5. The best part? You’ll walk away with hot tips for Christmas season 2019. Be sure to pencil it in as part of your DMEXCO agenda.
4. Focus on trust: Pixalate Panel
Trust is THE currency of our industry, and gambling it away can be dangerous. Criteo’s Camille Blaizot and other experts will be discussing how all players in the programmatic value chain can get involved in building trust in mobile advertising, what industry pioneers are already doing, and what influences marketers’ trust in mobile programmatic on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Find us at the Pixalate stand in hall 6.1, stand E-058.
5. Great coffee, even better conversation: The Criteo Stand
We not only have plenty of program highlights in store for you, but also the best coffee at DMEXCO (we promise!). Stop by for an espresso and have a chat with our team. Meet us in hall 8 at booth A043-B042 with its brand new design.
By the way: This year, our entire presence at DMEXCO is CO2-neutral. Since the parties and travel to DMEXCO, not to mention the booth, are responsible for a lot of CO2, we wanted to give something back. That’s why we’re planting 870 trees —130 for the participation of our team at DMEXCO, 550 for the travel to our RoofStop party, and 190 for the exhibition booth. How did we arrive at these numbers? We’ll let you in on that during a conversation at the event.
These are just five of the reasons why we’re looking forward to DMEXCO – a fantastic conference sure to be full of cool and creative booths, interesting sessions, and of course, one or two surprises…
See you in Cologne!
